For Authors

You’ve gone over your text multiple times. You’ve reached the stage when your eyes glaze over whenever you look at it. You’re worried it contains numerous errors and slip-ups, but you know you’re not going to be able to spot them all yourself. That’s where I come in.

Basically, I’m a perfectionist for hire. I work through texts making sure they’re free from spelling errors and typos, correcting dodgy grammar and poor punctuation, and checking everything is clear and easy to follow. If there are inconsistencies in the content and layout, I’ll spot them. If there’s anything ambiguous, inappropriate or repetitious, I’ll suggest a fix. Maybe there are tables, illustrations, notes and references – I’ll go over these meticulously, too. And, if required, I can also tidy up the formatting.

If English isn’t your first language, I can help you write like a native speaker. If you just want to be sure that your work looks professional, I’ll give you that reassurance. Whoever you are and whatever you’re writing, I can help you express yourself fluently, whether in the King’s English or your own unique voice. Once your text has been proofread, you can be confident that it says exactly what you want it to say and represents your knowledge and ideas at their best.

Being a published author myself, I understand the stresses and strains of being a writer and seek to make the process of finalizing a manuscript as painless as possible. I use ‘Track Changes’ in Word, so you can see all the corrections I make and either accept or reject them one by one. In case you’re not familiar with ‘Track Changes’, I’ve drafted a step by step guide that explains how it works and how to use it collaboratively.

If you’d like to enquire about using my service, please go to the Contact page, where you can find my email address or message me directly. If I’m available to take on the work, we can discuss terms and agree a contract. I generally charge by the hour, although I may be able to accommodate a fixed budget, if that’s what you have in mind.

When the contract’s agreed, I’ll be at your service, and the end of the project will be in sight!
